Before MUSES: two films for tribute-band concerts.
My first films with AI, made for concerts at the Palau de la Música. They are experiments: I show what held up, what didn’t, and what each one taught me.
ECHOES OF PINK FLOYD
The universe of Pink Floyd, inside the Palau de la Música.
The idea
Take the universe of Pink Floyd into the Palau. In the band’s day, the art direction of their records was meticulous, a work in itself: covers people still recognise without the band’s name on them. The idea was to lift that iconography, the beam of light, the prism, the man made of light bulbs, the handshake on fire, and let it happen inside the hall. It is a concept piece: what matters is the idea, not the band.
How the film unfolds
The Palau is a character in the film, not a backdrop, so it opens with the building itself. A beam of light comes in through the skylight and falls into the hall. As it enters, the lights of the Palau go down, the hall goes dark, and out of the beam the prism appears. From there, the images of the records take over the room, one after another.
The challenge
Placing images generated with AI inside a place that already exists. I started from photographs of the real Palau and built every shot in Midjourney before animating it. The AI tends to swap a real place for a generic one, a theatre that could be anywhere. The Palau had to stay the Palau, down to the skylight and the balconies. There are few characters on screen, so the location carries the whole film.

The energy of a Rolling Stones concert, inside a hall as majestic as the Palau de la Música.
The idea
Convey the energy of a Rolling Stones rock concert inside the Palau de la Música, a modernist monument and a UNESCO World Heritage Site: the hall full to the top, high-contrast stage light, a camera that never stops moving. Rock at full volume, inside a monument.
How it was made
The same method as Echoes of Pink Floyd: from existing photographs of the Palau, stills built in Midjourney, animated with Kling AI and Runway, and edited by hand.
The challenge
I show this one as an exercise. Almost nothing is in focus, and up close the crowd turns to grit: in 2025 the tools could not hold hundreds of moving faces. As a finished film it does not hold up today; as a test, it marks exactly where the limit was.
